This is the story of a young woman’s journey into the secrets one tells in order to survive, and what happens when those secrets are revealed. For Scorpio, daughter of Russian immigrants, things are great. She makes more in a day than what most twenty-somethings make in a month, unbeknown to her family supports them fnancially through sex work, and is in a secret relationship with the woman she loves. But, everything is about to get fucked: Scorpio gets dumped via a PDF, blocked on all social media platforms (including Linkedin), and just when she thinks things can’t get any worse, her family Lara’s troubles begin when she signs her identity over to a mysterious marketing agency called Sim-M. Sim-M offers Lara the opportunity to live her subconscious desires in a simulated “hyperreal” world, the catch, the hyperreal simulation is recorded and used for product placement. Quickly becoming addicted to the service, Lara falls down the rabbit hole of her subconscious and the distinction between the real and the virtual blur into a paranoiac haze. Confronted by the fact that the love from her lover in the simulated world is reciprocated in reality, Lara faces a choice, to live in her idyllic simulation, or face a reality she can no longer
